“I am hoping for a lucky break. Shit, I have been waiting my whole life for a lucky break, I think I am about due! So please, Universe, throw me a frickin’ bone.”
Hey Michelle, love your blog.
I just ticked over another year in August. I don’t like to make a big deal over it. To me it’s just another day. I was always wondering when my lucky break was coming. For a long time I looked at things as they were part of the life sentence I had to serve. I then, over time, realized that life itself was the lucky break I had been looking for.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting something more. It’s part of being human. But don’t predicate your happiness upon achieving that something more. You’ll end up being disappointed with life and miserable. Take what is dealt you and run with it.
((Chet)) I hear ya, but I’m way too young to throw in the towl! I have to say, I am pretty happy with my life, I would really just like to have a job in my career field! Not asking to win the lottery! lol At some point, work will be a necessity. Oh and, HAPPY belated BDAY!
How can you hate “people who are perpetually late”?!? You’re Italian!
Hello Michelle! I love your byline, “I never claimed to be normal”! Good on you! People who “claim to be normal” or “try to be normal” make me feel either uneasy or downright scared. How did you get interested in existentialism?
I think I was born an existentialist! Never bought into religion, despite being raised in a hardcore fundamental Baptist household. I never really believed in “God” and never really cared to. We exist. Might as well be happy.
Only half!! Of course, the French are even worse, so I don’t know how this came to be….
hey michelle!!
I love reading your blog!! We need to get together soon!!
love!
